About the Funder

Union Bank & Trust (UBT) has a long-standing commitment to strengthening the communities it serves. Through its Community Sponsorship and Charitable Giving Program, UBT provides financial support to nonprofit organizations addressing local needs and building stronger, more vibrant communities. Sponsorship and donation decisions are reviewed internally by UBT’s Donations Committee and are guided by alignment with the bank’s mission and community priorities.

Eligible Organizations

To be considered for funding, applicants must:

  • Be a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization
  • Operate within UBT’s service areas in Nebraska, Kansas, or Colorado
  • Submit a completed Sponsorship Request Form
  • Ensure the organization name matches the EIN provided
  • Include a completed W-9 form for verification

Each organization is limited to one request per calendar year.

Ineligible Requests

Union Bank & Trust generally does not fund:

  • Operating budget or general operating support
  • Individuals
  • Churches or religious organizations
  • Political campaigns or political organizations
  • Organizations located outside UBT’s service regions

Funding Amounts

UBT does not publish standard award amounts. Sponsorship levels vary based on:

  • Alignment with focus areas
  • Community impact
  • Nature and scope of the request
  • Available funding resources

Timeline & Review

📅 Review Cycle: Monthly review by UBT’s Donations Committee
📅 Meeting Schedule: Typically the last Monday of each month
📅 Submission Deadline: Requests must be submitted at least 10 days prior to the meeting
📅 December Note: No committee meeting is held in December
📅 Year-End Requests: Requests requiring funding by year-end must be submitted by November 15

Organizations seeking sponsorship or charitable support should:

  1. Complete UBT’s online Sponsorship Request Form
  2. Attach required documentation, including a W-9
  3. Submit the request with sufficient lead time for committee review
