About the Funder

Wetfly is dedicated to expanding access to fly fishing by supporting nonprofit organizations that foster youth engagement, outdoor education, conservation, and community angling experiences. Through its Giving Back Program, Wetfly donates high-quality fly-fishing gear to nonprofits that help introduce new anglers to the sport and steward healthy fisheries.

Their mission centers on removing barriers to fly fishing and supporting organizations that use outdoor recreation to inspire, educate, and build community.


What This Program Funds

Wetfly provides in-kind product donations — not cash grants.

Donations may include:

  • Fly rods & reels

  • Fly-fishing kits

  • Flies and tackle

  • Accessories or technical gear

Wetfly supports programs involving:

1. Youth Fly-Fishing & Outdoor Education

  • Camps and clinics

  • School outdoor education programs

  • Scout or youth group activities

2. Conservation & Stewardship Efforts

  • River and stream restoration events

  • Aquatic habitat education

  • Sustainable fishing awareness programs

3. Community Angling Programs

  • Community fishing days

  • Adaptive or therapeutic fishing programs

  • Organizations expanding access to fly fishing

4. Fundraisers Supporting Conservation or Outdoor Access

  • Auctions, raffles, or galas

  • Fishing tournaments with a charitable mission


Eligibility

Eligible groups include:

  • 501(c)(3) nonprofits

  • Schools and youth-serving organizations

  • Conservation groups and watershed organizations

  • Outdoor education programs

Wetfly generally does not support:

  • Individuals

  • For-profit events

  • Purely recreational tournaments without a conservation mission

  • Requests outside the U.S. (unless otherwise approved)

The quantity and value vary based on:

  • Program needs

  • Number of participants

  • Community impact

  • Available inventory

There is no monetary grant program associated with this opportunity.

Requests are accepted year-round.

Wetfly recommends applying:

  • At least 30 days before the program or event

Primarily supports organizations in the United States, especially those engaged in conservation or youth outdoor education.
