Build resilient communities
Encourage self-reliance and empower people socially by strengthening adaptability, skills, and capabilities
Financial Empowerment
The foundation supports partnerships that build financial awareness, knowledge, and skills, or provide tools that help people become more financially resilient.
Examples of eligible financial empowerment programs may include efforts that:
Provide and promote education and personal development, especially in financial literacy
Provide access to job skills training

Charitable programs aligned with social empowerment
Charitable programs aligned with financial empowerment
Community-based nonprofit partnerships
Programs serving eligible Transamerica communities
Eligibility & Preferences
Applicants must be qualified IRS 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations.
For 2026, the foundation is accepting applications focused on communities where Transamerica employees live and work, including:
Baltimore, Maryland Area: Baltimore City and County, Anne Arundel, Howard, Carroll, and Harford counties
Cedar Rapids, Iowa Area: Communities within a 50-mile radius of Cedar Rapids
Denver, Colorado Area: Denver, Arapahoe, Douglas, Broomfield, Jefferson, Adams, and South Boulder counties, excluding the City of Boulder
Harrison, New York Area: New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut, primarily including Westchester and Putnam counties in New York, some New York City communities, Fairfield County in Connecticut, and Hudson County in New Jersey

Serve one of the foundation’s eligible 2026 geographic areas
Align with social empowerment or financial empowerment priorities
Improve community well-being
Expand access to services, skills, opportunities, or resources

Ineligible Requests
The Transamerica Foundation does not provide grants to individuals.
The following types of organizations or programs are not eligible:
Athletes or athletic organizations
Conferences, seminars, or trips
Courtesy or goodwill advertising
Fellowships
Fraternal organizations
K-12 school fundraisers or events
Political parties, campaigns, or candidates
Religious or denominational organizations, except for specific programs that are broadly promoted and available to anyone, free from religious orientation
Social organizations
Funding Amounts
Transamerica Foundation does not publish standard grant amounts. Funding decisions are based on location, alignment with foundation priorities, eligibility, and the strength of the request.

Application / Request Process
Organizations should complete the Transamerica Foundation grant application and email the completed application to the foundation.
Applicants should also provide the following documents:
W-9 on current form
IRS 501(c)(3) favorable determination letter
Governing board list, including titles and business affiliations
Financial statements, with audited report preferred, and a copy of the current annual budget
Names and titles of officials responsible for administration and expenditure of the grant
