What This Program Supports

Eversource provides funding for programs and initiatives that align with its core focus areas:

Community Wellness & Basic Needs

  • Programs addressing food insecurity, housing, and essential services

Education (STEM Preferred)

  • STEM education initiatives and academic support programs

Environmental Stewardship

  • Conservation, sustainability, and environmental education efforts

Community Awareness & Engagement

  • Programs that strengthen civic participation and community connection

Economic & Workforce Development

  • Job training, workforce readiness, and economic mobility initiatives

Eligible Support Types

  • Programmatic grants
  • Event sponsorships (limited and selective)

Eligibility & Preferences

Applicants must:

  • Be a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization
  • Be located in or serve communities within Eversource’s service territory (CT, MA, NH)
  • Align with one or more of Eversource’s funding priorities

Preferences:

  • Programs with broad, measurable community impact
  • Initiatives that demonstrate sustainability and long-term benefit

Ineligible Requests

Eversource does not fund:

  • Capital campaigns
  • Utility bill assistance or energy-efficiency upgrades
  • Personnel costs for specific positions
  • Debt reduction
  • Political or fraternal organizations
  • Individual fundraising efforts or personal expenses
  • Advertising

Limited Funding (Case-by-Case):

  • PTOs and school-based fundraisers
  • Athletic teams or sports organizations
  • Golf tournaments and career fairs
  • Intermediary organizations

Funding Amounts

  • Typical grants range from $1,000 to $10,000
  • Funding does not automatically renew; organizations must reapply annually

Timeline & Review

📅 Application Deadline: Mid-October 2026 (rolling until close)
📅 Review Period: 8–12 weeks

⚠️ Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, so early submission is encouraged.
