Community Revitalization & Stabilization
Support for activities in low- and moderate-income areas, designated disaster areas, or underserved and distressed geographies. Eligible activities may include initiatives that:
Attract or retain businesses and residents
Create, retain, or improve jobs for low- and moderate-income individuals
Support government plans for community or neighborhood redevelopment or revitalization
Community Services
Support for activities where more than 50% of those served are low- and moderate-income individuals. Community services may include programs focused on:
Financial empowerment
Food security
Digital inclusion
Youth programs
Homeless shelters, transitional housing, and permanent housing
Domestic violence shelters
Addiction recovery centers
Affordable Housing
Support for programs that provide access to affordable housing options for low- and moderate-income individuals and families. Examples may include:
Down payment assistance
Homebuyer education
Credit counseling
Low-income housing tax credits
Rental subsidies
Economic & Community Development
Support for activities that assist low- and moderate-income individuals and families, small businesses, or farms. Eligible activities may include:
Helping small businesses gain access to capital
Workforce development or job training
Permanent job creation or retention
Inclusion
Huntington also considers organizations with a demonstrated commitment to creating a welcoming environment where individuals have access to opportunities and resources. Activities may include supporting financial well-being and expanding access to health and education resources across a broad range of communities.

Eligibility & Preferences
Applicants should generally meet the following criteria:
Be a nonprofit organization with appropriate IRS 501(c)(3) tax-exempt designation
Serve communities located within Huntington’s footprint
Request support for a specific program rather than general operations
Align with Huntington’s giving priorities and local community impact goals
Requests outside Huntington’s stated focus areas may be considered if they reflect documented community needs and align with the company’s overall impact goals.
Huntington observes the following definitions:
Low- to moderate-income: Up to 80% of the area’s median income
Low- to moderate-income area: Areas located in low- and moderate-income census tracts
Low- to moderate-income school: Schools where 51% or more of students are eligible for free or reduced-price lunch
Small businesses: Businesses with gross annual revenue under $1 million
Ineligible Requests
Huntington Foundation grants are generally not provided for:
Event sponsorships
Capital campaigns
Endowments and foundations
Multi-year requests
Individuals
Lobbying or political organizations
Activities for sectarian purposes
General operating budgets
Individual fundraising
Research
Producing films, videos, or television programs
Huntington Foundation reserves the right to approve exceptions to its funding limitations.

Huntington does not publish standard award amounts. Grant size likely varies based on program alignment, local market priorities, available funding, and community need.

📅 Submission Timing: Work with the appropriate Huntington Community Development Relationship Manager to confirm timing
Huntington reviews support opportunities on an ongoing basis throughout the year. Formal grant applications are invitation-only and considered through a quarterly review process.
Application / Request Process
Huntington Foundation’s grant program requires an invitation from a Huntington Community representative to apply. Organizations interested in exploring partnership opportunities are encouraged to contact the appropriate local Community Development Relationship Manager.
