Eligibility & Preferences
Iroquois gives priority to projects that strongly align with the grant program’s intent. Preference is also given to requests showing visible community involvement and additional fundraising support. Requests from schools must include approval of the superintendent. Lower priority is given to capital and equipment requests. Projects must be located in Iroquois host communities and be ready to move forward quickly.
Ineligible Requests
Iroquois does not fund:
- Individuals
- Organizations without 501(c)(3) status
- Organizations with an open Iroquois grant
- Political organizations, campaigns, causes, or candidates
- Fraternal, veterans, or social organizations
- Health and human service organizations
- Sectarian or religious organizations
- Athletics or youth sports organizations
- Capital campaigns, endowment funds, and scholarship funds
- Municipal capital or public works projects
- Fundraising events such as dinners and golf tournaments
- Conferences, trips, or tours
- Personnel positions
- Research projects
- Planning or conceptual-stage projects
- Technology, including computers, software, or hardware
- Projects outside pipeline host communities
- Projects initiated prior to approval

If a deadline falls on a weekend or holiday, proposals are accepted on the following workday. Hard copy proposals must be received by the deadline date, and email submissions must be received the day before to allow for confirmation of receipt.

- Project description
- Description of the organization, including proof of 501(c)(3) status
- Expected long-term outcomes or impact
