Eligibility & Preferences
To be eligible for a donation from Southwire, organizations must:
Be a legal nonprofit entity under Section 501(c)(3) of the U.S. Internal Revenue Code, a registered organization under the Revenue Canada Act, or an equivalent organization under applicable international law
Be financially stable upon request for contribution
Provide evidence of financial position if requested by Southwire
Demonstrate no criminal record or violation of ethical standards
Provide supporting documentation if requested
Benefit areas where Southwire team members live and work, along with any other geographic areas served
Combine, where possible, the time and talent of Southwire team members with financial resources
Have values that align with Southwire’s vision, values, and shareholders
Southwire prefers to support organizations that allow team members to participate through volunteerism or other meaningful engagement, not just through company financial support.
Ineligible Requests
Southwire does not support charitable donations to:
Organizations that discriminate based on race, color, religion, creed, national origin or ancestry, ethnicity, sex, pregnancy, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, disability, citizenship, genetic information, marital status, military or veteran status, affiliation, or any other characteristic protected by law
Organizations or educational institutions seeking support for a specific individual

Funding Amounts
Southwire does not publish standard donation amounts. Funding varies based on the request, alignment with Southwire’s giving priorities, community benefit, availability of resources, and opportunities for employee involvement.

📅 Review Timeline: Application review may take 30–45 days
📅 Communication: Additional documentation requests or updates are sent through the YourCause platform and by email from YourCause
Organizations should apply early enough to allow for the 30–45 day review period.
Application / Request Process
Southwire uses Blackbaud’s YourCause GrantsConnect platform to manage charitable donation requests.
To apply:
- Create a YourCause account through the Southwire application page.
- Return to the Southwire charitable giving landing page.
- Select “Apply Now” to submit a formal charitable donation request.
- Monitor the YourCause platform and email for any follow-up documentation requests.
All charitable donation requests are reviewed by Southwire’s corporate charitable donations committee.
