The U.S. Venture / Schmidt Family Foundation awards Program Grants above $35,000 to nonprofit organizations working to empower disadvantaged communities, enhance quality of life, and foster stronger, more connected communities.

These larger grants are designed to support organizations that demonstrate strong leadership, measurable outcomes, and meaningful engagement with U.S. Venture team members or shareholders.

About the Program

Program Grants support a wide range of funding requests, including:

  • Specific program needs
  • Capital support
  • General operating support

Each charitable organization is typically eligible for one program grant per calendar year.

Funding Priorities

USV/SFF prioritizes initiatives that align with its mission and demonstrate meaningful, long-term community impact. Focus areas include:

  • Team member and shareholder engagement
  • Self-sufficiency

What They Look For

Successful applicants typically demonstrate:

  • Must demonstrate direct involvement or support from a U.S. Venture team member or shareholder
  • Must operate in geographic areas where U.S. Venture facilities or team members are located

Typically Outside Funding Scope

The Foundation generally does not fund:

  • Grants to individuals or families
  • Conference expenses, medical procedures, or research
  • Events already completed or expenses incurred prior to approval
  • Political organizations or causes
  • Schools or government agencies
  • Annual meetings or recurring operational-only expenses
  • Religious organizations requiring religious affiliation for service delivery
  • Capital campaigns for schools, religious institutions, sports facilities, or endowments
  • Organizations outside U.S. Venture’s geographic footprint

  • Application questions can be downloaded for offline review, but submissions must be completed within Temelio.
  • Live chat support is available during business hours within the platform.
