Foundation Grants

The Centreville Bank Charitable Foundation strives to support local community-based organizations tackling the state’s most significant challenges. Charitable Foundation grants are awarded three times per year, with the application window open during the following time frames:

December 15 - January 16th
March 15 - April 15th
September 15 - October 15th

Eligibility

Funding must support communities located in the Centreville Bank service area: Rhode Island, New London and Windham counties in Connecticut.
Ogranizations must have an IRS tax exemption 501 (c)(3).
Sponsorship requests must be submitted at least six weeks in advance.
Charitable Priority Areas

Our goal is to support initiatives that help students achieve education success, ensure families can attain economic security, and provide capacity building support so nonprofits can enhance their organizational effectiveness. Examples include:

Education Success

Early Childhood education
Out of school time / summer learning
Social and emotional learning
High school completion and hgher education enrollment
Family and community engagement programs
Support for diverse learning needs
Economic Security
Help individuals meet their basic needs
Provide access to adult education, GED completion, English language classes, etc.
Housing (Home ownership and counseling, eviction and homelessness prevention.)
Affordable housing development
Financial education and coaching
Food insecurity
Elderly safety and wellbeing
Capacity Building
Leadership development / board and staff education
Program evaluation
Marketing and communications
Technology enhancements
Organizational improvements
Strategic and succession planning
Innovations funds to help diversify revenues, invest in their businesses, and explore strategic collaboration

Exclusions

Centreville Bank will consider one application per organization each year. Applications for the following are not eligible for consideration:

Fraternal or Alumni organization
Political organization
Religious organization
National organization with a local chapter
Programs that benefits specific individuals
Talent or beauty contests
Advertising
Travel expenses
Pass through request (request for funds that will be given to another organization)
Communities outside of the Banks service area
