CSX’s Pride in Service Grants are designed to serve those who serve. The program supports organizations that honor and assist veterans, active military members, and first responders, as well as initiatives that strengthen the communities they protect.

About the Funder
CSX is committed to investing in the communities it serves, with a particular focus on honoring national and local heroes. Through the Pride in Service Grants program, CSX partners with organizations that provide critical support, services, and resources to veterans, military members, first responders, and their families.
Who Is Eligible to Apply
To be eligible for a Pride in Service Grant, applicants must qualify under one of the following categories:
- 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations listed in the IRS Master File and operating in the United States
- State, county, or municipal government entities, including law enforcement and fire rescue departments, requesting funding to serve the broader community
- Educational institutions, including:
- Pre-K–12 schools
- Charter schools
- Community or junior colleges
- Colleges and universities
Funding Focus Areas
Grant submissions must align with at least one of the following focus areas:
- Safety
- Mental, Social, and Emotional Health
- Bridging Community Divides
- Workforce Development
- Financial Assistance & Food Insecurity
Projects should demonstrate clear benefit to veterans, military members, first responders, and/or the communities they serve.
Grant Amounts
- Suggested Award Range: $2,500 to $25,000
- Final award amounts vary based on alignment, scope, and available funding
Ineligible Requests
CSX does not support:
- Telephone or mail solicitations (including email)
- Organizations outside of CSX’s service network
- Religious organizations not registered with the IRS
- Organizations that discriminate based on race, religion, gender, or sexual orientation
- Political candidates or lobbying organizations
- Limited-constituency organizations or clubs
- Individuals, conferences, or travel requests
- Anti-business or controversial organizations
