Eligibility & Preferences
To be eligible for funding, organizations must meet the following criteria at a minimum:
Be located in and provide services within Trustmark market areas in Alabama, Florida, Mississippi, Tennessee, or Texas
Deliver services through one of Trustmark’s five focus areas: Arts and Culture, Community, Economic Development, Education, or Health and Social Services
Provide a valid tax ID number
Strong-fit requests are likely to:
Serve communities where Trustmark associates live and work
Demonstrate clear local impact
Support one or more of Trustmark’s focus areas
Include complete documentation
Show strong alignment with community needs and Trustmark’s available resources
Organizations may submit requests for more than one event per calendar year. However, if an organization is planning multiple events, Trustmark prefers to receive one package request per calendar year.
Ineligible Requests
Trustmark will not consider requests for:
Individual assistance
Political action committees, candidates, causes, or lobbying
Religious or fraternal organizations, unless they are engaged in benefiting a broader base within the community
Labor groups
For-profit entities, including startup companies
Travel, including student trips or tours
Funding Amounts
Trustmark does not publish standard award amounts. Funding decisions are based on eligibility, documentation, overall community impact, and Trustmark’s available resources.
Timeline & Review
📅 Application Timeline: Applications may be submitted at any time
📅 Confirmation: A confirmation email is sent once an application is received
📅 Review Period: Responses are generally provided within 6–8 weeks after all necessary information is submitted
📅 Approval Notification: Approved requests are confirmed by email or through contact from a Trustmark associate
📅 Funding Timeline: Approved funds may be direct deposited in approximately 2 weeks; mailed checks may take up to 4 weeks
Application / Request Process
All funding requests must be submitted through Trustmark’s online portal. Requests should not be submitted directly to a Trustmark associate.
Applicants should provide all requested documentation, even for smaller requests. Trustmark states that all requested information is necessary to process the request.
Approval is based on several factors, including:
Meeting eligibility requirements
Providing all requested documentation
Overall impact of the funding
Trustmark’s available resources
